To all our incredibly valued patients:
I hope you are all managing to find some time to do some of those odd jobs that never make it to the top of our priority list! Or perhaps spending some quality time in the garden, or with a loved one, or starting a new hobby.
Virginia and I are working our way through speaking to all of you that have appointments in the coming weeks and we are often having quite long chats on the telephone! It is lovely to catch up with you all in a very different way to normal.
Just a reminder that I am still on the end of the telephone and on e-mail if you would like to discuss anything. Just call the practice number as normal. We are keeping face to face contact to an absolute minimum to comply with the government’s instructions and avoid placing patients at more risk. There will, however, be isolated emergencies with an immediate risk to health which we do have to deal with. I would ask my patients not to present to A&E with these problems but to call me first and I will point you in the right direction. In the next few days, we should have information about the Urgent Care Hubs being set up by the NHS in West Sussex to accept patients with severe dental problems and I will share these details with you as soon as I have them.
Looking to the future, we are already considering how we can increase capacity for when we return as I know it will be busy. Our priority will be to ensure that those whose treatments have been disrupted or whose hygiene appointments are overdue are seen soonest, but we are also conscious that many emergencies will have cropped up over this period which will of course be accommodated.
Again can I remind those of you who should not currently leave home that I am more than happy to help with groceries or errands – I do have a bit of time on my hands! Please just ask.
With my very best wishes for your continued good health during this period of uncertainty.
Arvin and the Vitality team
