    Crowns & Veneers Services

Our high-quality crowns and veneers are available in an unlimited range of shades to ensure the most natural-looking smile, and are fitted by our expert team of dentists, using modern techniques to preserve your natural teeth. Read on for more info about both Crowns and Veneers, plus how we can repair ones that have been in place a long time.

    What is a Crown?

Crowns are discreet facings that are bonded to natural teeth to improve appearance or strengthen those underneath. They can be used for cosmetic improvements or to replace teeth that have been heavily filled or have undergone root canal treatment.

Whilst crowns and veneers are often used to replace natural teeth that have been damaged, veneers can also be used for cosmetic purposes to straighten, brighten and whiten your smile. Once fitted, crowns and veneers are indistinguishable from your natural teeth and work, bite and chew just like them.

    Why would I need Veneers?

Commonly used to achieve the ultimate smile makeover, porcelain veneers are custom-made, ultra-thin shells of tooth-coloured porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth.

Comparable to what artificial fingernails can do for hands, dental veneers can transform crooked, badly worn, chipped, gappy or stained teeth – resulting in a true ‘Hollywood’ smile. They are one
of a menu of cosmetic treatment options we have at our disposal to improve your smile.

The process is simple and painless and usually requires between two and four visits to the dentist. Results last 10-15 years! A thorough check of gum health is required first and you will need to visit your hygienist to ensure your gums are in great condition before embarking on your cosmetic journey.

How long does it take to fit Crown or Veneers?

Having a crown or veneer fitted is a simple, comfortable process:

    1st Visit:

    • We discuss your ideal smile
    • We take photos and X-rays of your teeth
    • We check the health of your teeth and gums
    • We discuss your options for crowns or veneers
    • We can show you a preview of the final result by mocking up your personalised design on a model of your teeth

    2nd Visit:

    • We make minor adjustments to the shape of your teeth, a painless procedure carried out under local anaesthetic for your comfort
    • We take impressions of your teeth and fit your temporary crowns or veneers
    • We discuss colours and designs
    • Following your visit, we scan the impressions and, using cutting-edge technology, design manufacture your new crowns or veneers

    3rd Visit:

Sometimes we will ask you to attend for a consultation at our manufacturing laboratory to review colours and designs in more detail

    4th Visit:

We fit your custom-designed crowns or veneers and you walk out smiling brightly!

    Crowns Repairs

If you have visible cracks or chips in your crown or it has become loose or wobbly, or the gums recede around the crown edge, you’ll need a replacement.

If there isn’t enough exposed tooth structure to place or repair a crown, crown lengthening may be needed. This minor surgical procedure reshapes the gum line and sometimes underlying bone to expose more of the tooth, creating a strong, healthy base.

    Veneer Repairs

If there are small chips or cracks in the veneer, or they have detached from the tooth, or discolouration / staining over time, or rough / worn edges, then depending on the material – composite veneers or porcelain – we may be able to polish, patch, or re-bond the existing veneer. If replacement is needed, we’ll ensure the new veneer matches your natural tooth colour and shape seamlessly.
